I know, it may sound corny or mushy, but remember, it's the little things that go a long way......

I can relate!

Some very cool plates indeed.

Is it expensive over in the states for vanity plates? (we call them personalised or custom plates here).
I can tell you in my state its pretty expensive. $450 a year for full custom (up to 6 letters/numbers).
Ive got the following (not on my vette, on my daily driver): 'KARATE'
(see my forum pictures-link under my avatar)
(don't tease me!)

and for my vette, I just got these: (couldn't afford full custom, but I like them):

Whoa.....bloody money hungry bastards over here! Just to register a car costs $200 a year plus approx $350 a year for compulsory insurance (thats not including the non-compulsory insurance that we all get).....so $550 minimum just to register a car each year.

I didn't want to spend another $450 on custom plates....as I would prefer to put that money into my vette!

Just the semi-customs cost me enough - $160 a year.......for what! but the non custom plates are way tooo big and ugly for my vette.....I had to bend the edges of the plate so I could fit it in the rear bezel...and I havent mounted the fronts yet (which is illegal here....$350 on the spot fine, and 3 points off your lisence.....(you only get 12 points in total).

Im annoyed just thinking about it all!

So, you know what Im going to do about it? Go for a cruise along the beach front in my vette!!! such a nice day today!

as for how my vette is going...umm...still needs a few things done to it....vacuum leaks and stuff...so the engine isn't as tuned as it can be yet...
but Im happy with it and having fun....and thats the main thing!

Stay cool

Yep they are really strict here......

you lose points for EVERYTHING...bloody EVERYTHING. and you only get 12 points (on a 3 year cycle).....thats nothing!!!! then on top of that during the holiday seasons throughout the year ..they make it double demerit points (so you lose double the points during this period).

if you don't indicate you lose 3 points, if you drive too close to the car in front you lose 3 points...use your mobile phone while driving -3 points, drive in the fast lane if you are not overtaking - 3 points, speeding even less than 10km over you lose major points.....you lose your license straight away if you are 40km over the speed limit.

I could go on and on and on...and on top of that you get a major fine!!!!

It majorly sucks.

As for drink driving...the legal limit for unrestricted license (ie..not learner or provisional) is 0.05 blood alcohol limit...and if you are over this by any amount you lose your license for a number of months - and even jail term.

Nice to finally see your pic. You're kinda yound to be hangin' out with some of these old farts.

Mine says "WILFUL" --coupled with the bumper sticker(its a small one) I must have on every car I've owned, even on my vette, "Question Authority"-- I've had a slightly rougher time breaking the ice with cops.
