That's no good. It's an orange C3 they rescued from some junkyard somewhere. They rebuilt the motor, put in a new tranny and redid the fuel system so far. 383 stroker, I missed the tranny. They're using a suspension / brakes package from someone, I missed who.
I think you are referring to the old "Stinkray" project they started last winter/spring. It belonged to one of the show editors, if my memory serves me. There were quite a few regulars on this board following the progress, but the last I saw was the fuel upgrade. Last I heard, the next episode was supposed to be paint, but no follow up was aired. In the show teaser, they showed a freshly painted Stinkray, but that was it. I thought it was about time someone used a C-3 for a project, and then it ended unfinished. Rasberries to them!!

I just got done watching this episode, they did the suspension over on this one, they had mentioned VBP as the supplier, as well as others I can't recall...They made it look all to easy to do as we all know how stubborn some of these suspension parts are to get off, In my opinion, they should've cleaned up the undercarriage before installing all the new components, seems pointless to have all new suspension, exhaust, etc, and have 30 years of crud left on the frame, etc.

My exact thoughts as well while watching this
Why half-do the job. Plus they ran through some install points on the suspension leaving me with many questions. I guess we're expecting too much from TV.

they aired it! i saw the whole thing. they painted a grayish color and changed the rims and painted the centers black. they now call it stealth ray. those dorks have to much fun and money.the kid on the show ran it around some auto cross track and he lost it on one turn. but it was really tearing up that track with good time slips. the kid is some sort of racer himself and loved the c-3's performance witht the vbp suspension. also those guys leave things undone all the time, and do things azz backwards. but its still my favorite show. anyone know what its first name was?

exactly. how can they do all those performance upgrades and not clean up the undercarriage? PITIFUL
I've got the first three episodes Tivo'd. You know there is only 15 minutes of Stinkray in each 30 minute episode? The rest is advertising during the "Quick Tech" and "Hot Parts" sections.
I just loved the way the rear trailing arm bolts came out sooooooo easy. lol
BTW, with the 383 crate engine with $2000 accessory drive, complete suspension/brake upgrade, etc., how much money do you think they're going to have into that car? Must be nice to get all the free stuff.
most of these shows are the same.the mechanics are just parts replacers(assembly line workers) and they are more focused on advertising parts than the actual job bieng done.the reality in most cases is very very different.especially in my cars case.
i wish their was a smiley face with grease all over it and pulling out his pockets.

Color looks nice. The show is "Horse Power TV" I think.

There IS one exception to that group. The guy on TRUCKS is a real gearhead. He does all the dirty grunt work himself. He gets covered in grease and dirt and loves it. He's always laughing and telling us how we feel an affection about our rides. He tells you about how hard some of those parts are to remove/reinstall, then he goes out and beats the snot out of them in the mud and rocks. Glad he doesn't do vettes, but love how he leans on, & what he does to, those trucks when he's finished building them. They are made to beat on is his feeling and tells you so. I've seen more than one brand new part come flying off his truck as he's beating on them. He just picks them up, throws them into the bed and haul butt some more. Man I love him!
And NO, I don't own a truck, but I watch his program to pick up tips on parts and construction ideas.
