Default [RANT] Darn C2 guys don't wave!

So it's a beautiflul day and I have Joe Walsh blasting in my ears and what do I see comnig my way? A very nice red C2 convertible coming my way... looks like a 63 or a 64, I extend my arm fully skyward and give a huge WAAAAVEEE back and forth, to make sure they saw me. These 2 guys look over at me and just drive right by without waving.... ... I'm like, WTF??? snobs!!! So what if I was out running ??? I waved! They could have waved back!

As long as you waved. There are times that I know I won't get a responce but I wave anyway.

Let's see - A guy running waves at a car, he expects them to know he's a Corvette guy. They just figured he's weird, waving at people he doesn't know.... Geez, then he gets upset about it! Get a life, worry about the big things and let the small stuff go by.

I am not going to apologize for any one in a Vette who doesn't wave, but I don't think it has anything to do with his driving a C2 or C3 or C6. I have a C6 and C3, had a new C2 and have been waving for more than 40 years. Folks who don't wave have something else going on.

I find most wave when we meet. But it's a different story when my C3 passes them, than it's the single C2 finger thingy.

thanks Corz! It's so hard being misunerstood... hmmmm... think I'll write a song about that... "I'm just a soul whose intentions are good... Oh Lord, please don't let me be misundersood!"

But it was, in fact, a true story! Right down to the Joe Walsh part. I always run with radio/headphones! It was such a beautiful day and that vette looked so nice I couldn't help but wave!

I kid you not !
seems every generation will give us a wave back, except for the C6 drivers. Right now - neither of us will initiate a wave to a C6. If they wave first, then we will wave back at them... but we've decided that a C6 will have to make the first move.

I typically don't wave at other Corvette owners, but I'll always return one.

Maybe a thumbs up like "hey, cool ride" would have been better than a wave that could have been misunderstood as "hey there big boy, pull over so I can get to know you".

I was hesitant to initiate the wave BUT I do and so far, everyone waves back except c5's. I figure if the vette owner has owned it long enough, enjoys it enough, learned to appreciate it despite it's trouble but generally just "gets it" (owning one of these beautiful classics) they will wave back. If they don't wave back, then they don't get it. Their loss, not mine. Poor slob.
I just place a hand up , palm out and a quick wave as an acknowledgement. Works (almost) everytime!
