Best Color for C3?
I'm in the process of restoring my 81 shark. It's stripped now but was red when I got it, original color was silver. I think yellow would look cool (maybe like the deep yellow GM uses on the new cars) ..but then silver or red would look good too, I guess. The interior is black so I can go with about any color. I've got some time before I need to decide, but I'm up in the air. What colors do you think look particularly good on C3's?
And, if you could change the color of your car to any color, what would you make it?
Cheers,
Mark G

My 77 was Red when I got it. It was originally Silver from the factory, but right now it is 80% stripped and I am going back to the orignal color #13 Silver with #722L red leather interior. I like Silver on C3's, I think they have sexy body lines and Silver really shows them off nicely. I also think Silver on Red is a classic Corvette color combo IMO and my favorite on these cars.

Wish my 72 was silver like my 77 was. Eddie
I've had two 80 Vettes, one painted black and one painted red. They both were awesome colors. I did notice when a fine layer of dust settled on the paint a lot more on the black one than the red, and swirl marks appeared much more quickly on the black one. Also, any tiny flaw in the bodywork was much more magnified in black than red.
Also, I noticed that I got pulled in front of a few times in the black one and narrowly missed getting hit. I think that the black blended in with the road for those drivers. They always saw the red one, though.

Hmmm...
How about International Blue?
Seriously, though... The Shark wears most colors gracefully. I like bold colors on muscular cars, like Corvettes. Silver, Gunmetal, Bronze, and Gold, Black (extremely common), Gray, and White. Red (extremely common), Blue, Yellow, Orange, Forest Green...
Pick whatever you like.

I went from white to black on mine. I love the color but it is a job to keep it looking good all of the time.
I am going to repaint my -69, this winter, and I have wondered why I have never seen a 2-colored C3?
So I used PhotoShop to try out some, to see how it looked.
Or is it a no-no rule against this.
Any way, I think it looks quite nice.
What do you think?

Seriously, I'm totally biased. The color in a very personal choice that you and you alone can make. Good luck!
