the rear view mirror on my 69 is extremly loose and wont stay in one place.
the mirror to the shaft its self isnt loose, but where the shaft connects to the body is the part thats moveing all over the place.
ive looked at it a couple of times and im not really sure how to tighten it back down so i can actually use the mirror, any suggestions?
being able to see whos pulling up on my tail at the light would be a nice touch. besides, haveing my driver side mirror double as a rearview mirror isnt the most practicle thing.
Not sure if a 76 is the same but I had the same problem. When you say the shaft to the body is loose, if you mean the windshield frame, you pull a cover off, (mine is a vinyl piece, almost square, same color as the trim along the top inside of the windshield) and under there is a ball & socket with a screw you can tighten to get more friction.
Hope that helps, you need to see who you have left in the dust.
