Jacking Question (Sidepipes)
Im adding sidepipes to my 77. It just hit me that I jack the car from the sides. The pipes will be hanging lower. What is the best way to jack the front and back after pipes are installed. I have a lowrise floorjack for my C5, but without seeing the pipes on Im not sure how its going to be done.

My brother has hooker side pipes on his 75. Front, put it under the part that the a-arms bolt to, I think it is the engine cradle officially (it's large and U-shaped). The back, usually jack underneath the pumpkin. Then we use jack stands to stabilize.

I have a lowered car with a pace car spoiler. I can't get the jack in from the front, and just barely from the sides.
I have to park the car on a 2x12 and jack from the sides using a 4x4 between the jack and frame.

use a (manual) scissor jack from some other car (most japanese cars come with these jacks) to raise the vette 2-3" so that you can get the hydraulic floor jack under the frame....
When I installed my Hookers I did one side at a time on a floorjack (about 16" high) and two jackstands for safety... then I couldn't get the hydraulic jack out after I installed the first sidepipe
... I'm glad i found the low profile manual jack in my garage

I too jack from center of front, center of back. But if I'm working on the side not fr or bk then I jack from the side. I don't remember my pipes getting in the way. Its been awhile but I might be slanting the jack. pointing towards the front or back rather than straight out the side.
When I jack the front usually put the jack out the side. Get more handle movement there.
