I threw an inner wheel weight on the highway and it damaged my driver side fender on top near the edge of the hood. The body shop fixed it, and said a guy told him there were polyurethane mats that could be glued under the fender to protect it from rocks. He said a lot of truckers with fiberglas front ends have them, but that there was a special one made for our cars. Anybody know where I can get these?
If you have any stars on your fenders in the area above the tire, I'd bet it was from rocks kicking up there. There is no protection to the top of the fender on our C-3s.

Someone posted about this a long time ago and I don't think it was ever resolved. This is a pretty good idea and if you have a new paint job, would be a pretty good investment if you drive your vette.
You can buy rubberized undercoaing at auto parts stores or auto body supply stores. 3M makes it as well as several other companys. It comes in a spray can and you just spray it on. Auto body supply houses also carry professional grade stuff that is applied using a spray gun & compressor.
There are several different compounds.... some of it is rubberized, some of it is not. You have to read the labels & decide what you need/want.
A long, long time ago, there was a guy who made "inner fender" shields for C2's... but they were for the rear I believe, not the front. I don't think they caught on well enough for him to make any money, so I think he stopped making them.
