A new concept...wouldn't that then become the C7 if produced? The new Corvette with the fixed headlights is the C6. (GM is off on the numbering - the straight-axle cars should really be split into two generations, if the C2 and C3 cars are going to be split up. In both cases, the chassis and mechanicals were very similar, but with very different bodies on top.)
Upon further review, I think this would fall as an evolution of the C6 - kind of like the changes that the C4 went through over it's production life.
I went to that artist's website.....he has some truly awesome concepts for the cuda, challenger, gto, and of course the c6 stingray. Personally I like it!
The Vette looks fantastic. All of his concepts look really good, especially the Cuda/Challenger. Unfortunately all the stuff that makes em look cool is what will make them impractical for production. His Vette is very swoopy and C3-ish, but since the drag coefficient of the C3 is massive, that design would be rejected on the spot. If the Big3 ever wanted to make cool cars they would just hire the people who create Hot Wheels. It's the reality of mass-production, ergonomics, and economics that's keeping radical designs like that from being made. Just look at what the original Charger redesign was supposed to look like (a sexy low-slung sedan) compared to what they finally made (a smoothed out ugly brick).
That said, I'd buy his Cuda in a second if they made one that looked like that
