they sell those round ones at vette fest for a buck,i never liked them cuz they make and break the connection lousy,,,the alarm goes on and off e cct..i now use the blade type and i like it more cuz it wide open or shut no imbetween like the rotary,,,there in the j.c. whitney catalog
I now have a switch below the rear bumper. All it took was a few feet of batterty cable and Viola' no more cut up hands from trying o open/close the evil switch. Just reach behind the bumper and snap, the car is shut off.
Knife style cut off here. Tried the screw type and got shocked on my azz when the thing still made contact. If you search the corners of my garage floor, you can probably still find tiny pieces of it.

I love my blade type disconnect, in fact I have them on all my vehicles. It was kind of a pain setting it up on the vette, because the disconnect manufacturers say you need to install it on the negative terminal, and there's not a whole lot of room in the battery compartment, as you all know. I tried it backwards, and sideways.... finally got it to fit by putting a couple of short 2" x 4" blocks under the battery, and now the blade has room to swing with the battery positioned normally.
They are good battery savers, and every bit of extra theft protection is worthwhile. The casual thief may not know where to find the battery on a C3, and may not be willing to spend the extra time looking for it. A pro is going to take your car no matter what you do, so the best thing you can do is try to slow him down. Definitely cash well spent, IMHO.
I have a rotary on mine and I think it was the best improvement for the cost I have made on the car. It saves a lot of hassle with electrical
repairs and so far the battery has always been full charged and ready.
This is our setup on our Jaguar, and we are finding problems with it.
You have to either completely unscrew the thing so that the 2 ends are completely disconnected, or you have to loosen it 1-2 turns. Otherwise, the brass pieces tilt and manage to make a poor contact, further draining the battery.
The next time I order parts from Summit or Jeg's, I'll be adding 2 rotary disconnect switches (one for the Jag, one for our C3), because this one isn't cutting it.
