I have a simliar problem with my 69 Although no dash lights at all. Though I still have some wires not connected. Long orange and black thick wire might go to the headlight switch? and a heavy pink and black wire underneath the steering column?
Any help, you guys seem to know your stuff. The guy I bought it from was a coat hanger type repairer
Thanks so much Kim
not sure if this is a related problem or not (still haven't solved the original) but my stop light fuses keep popping as soon as i attempt to add a new 20A fuse. ideas?

solved the fuse popping problem, but still can't figure out the speedo/tach lighting issue. i've tried a new circuit board, but it didn't help.
edit: just notcied that the illumination fuse has popped (not sure when this happened). i'm sure i checked this when i first noticed the problem. anyways, i can't tell what amperage the fuse was, but i had another one that was the same size that i attempted to replace it with, but still no lights. is it possible that the fuse i used was the wrong type and would this prevent the circuit from being completed?
