Default Rag joint plastic spacers??

I just received my new flexible coupling (aka rag joint) GM part #7806391
and it's a beautiful part, but there are no red plastic spacers attached to it. Jim Shea's paper describes a simple method of using masking tape to create the proper spacing, but does anybody have a pair of old spacers? You are supposed to remove and discard them after you install the darn thing anyway.

MJ,

Wish you had posted this a couple days earlier... Just tossed a set of spacers that I had kept for some odd reason.

I'll check tonight just to make sure, but I'm relatively certain that I threw them out.

The AIM has the clearance spec for th steering coupler... You could always use that.

Regards,

I have a set of the spacers somewhere. Give me a day or two to locate them.
If I find them, I will send them your way, but I will want them returned.
They are useful whenever installing the steering column.

Masking tape would work fine, as you just want to make sure
the pins are centered in the slots when tightening the steering
column into place and tightening the 2 coupler nuts.

Send me an email to remind me ... dave@NHvette.com
