I've been thinking along these lines with my interior. I would really like to get away from stock altogether. I want all my gauges in front of me, getting rid of the huge speedo and tach in exchange for some smaller autometer or VDO replacements... Right now my plans include molding custom dash, door panels and center console out of fiberlass. I will rebuild the original seats to be more "sporty" by today's terms.
Of course, that all may change by the time I get around to it... :-D

I have been dreaming along the same lines. Not too long ago, someone posted a picture of a C3 at a car show that had the dash flatter in front of the driver and wrapped around into the center consol so the radio and switches were right at the finger tips, on an angle to the driver. That's what started me thinking. Now I just need to learn how to form it out of fiberglass.
Errr, not quiet what I had in mind. I'm looking for modern, as in current up to date styling, not futuristic. Or in that case, an 80's approximation of futuristic.
I'm after a look that you might find on a car lot today, not in a B-flick.
I like the nordskog guages, a bit pricey but would sure dress up the interior.

Once you price out all the Autometer gauges, I'll bet you're not that far from the Nordskog $$$. Also consider the Nordskog package replaces the center console. This is the route I'll be going when I get around to replacing my interior.
I wouldn't go that far, but the wrap around shape is close to what I would like to do.
The answer to another-user's question is: medication.
Yes it's a Knight Rider dash, but it's from a replica kit. http://www.markscustomkits.com/
I'm sure the base fiberglass dash could be altered to fit a C3. Mark's also does custom work. So with enough money a cutom wrap around could be made.
