Default Hood Insulation
The hood insulation on my '77 is in bad shape. I don't much care for the look of the hood insulation. Is it needed? could I remove it and just paint that area of the hood?

I've seen lots of people remove the insulation. If you take it off take the retainer studs off as well. They look kind of silly sticking up without the insulation.

Yes, you can remove it. Many of the chrome bumper cars never had it.

Mine did not have it when I bought it. I have not driven it much though before it went up on stands
