My wife just walked in and announced "I am taking the Vette".
She is taking one of her girlfriends along with her.
I was so suprised I didn't know what to say other than "fill it up with gas".
No, as long as she is familiar with the car, it should be okay. And the more she drives it, the more she will appprove for some upgrades. My wife drives one of our vettes on a regular basis. For a daily driver, she prefers the Expedition in our garage. But on nice days, she can't resist driving one of the vettes with the top off. My wife never complains when I ask her approval to spend a little money on one of them.

My only concerns really are that she will find the secondaries like she did on my old 80 Chevy truck. She informed me then that it came out of 2nd somewhere near 100.
Mine is a good "stick" girl....many years ago,I fit full mettalic brake pads and forgot to tell her to drag brakes to warm them up..she hopped in,went down the hill from our house and had no brakes..she had presense of mind to downshift, and pump brakes, stopping just at the stop sign...
I encourage my wife but she won't take it out until I fix all the little things that need a fixin'...no I'm not dragging my heels on purpose...
One step closer to insane...I've informed my teenage daughter that as soon as she gets her permit we're going to the nearest large empty parking lot so she can say the very first car she ever drove was a vintage Vette...get 'em while they're young! I'll be sure the stereo is fully functional , of course.

you know, while that may seem like a good idea now, the side effects may not be so welcome.
starting the kid off on a 300HP muscle car, then droping them down to a little 90HP 4 banger is not all its cracked up to be.
i know if my dad started me off on the vette, every car that was below that in terms of performance would be hell on me. as it is right now, its hard enough to go 5-6 months between winter storage and being stuck with my POS sunbird that struggles to climb hills. its the 2nd worst form of teasing from jingleing the keys infront of them.
