Default Scuffed up paint

The PO of my 79 blue coupe left the hood and tops of the fender flares with scuff marks - I'm guessing they are rub marks from the cover as he left it outside. I've tried Meguire's three step process taking over and over again using both hand and orbital polisher applications. The paint doesn't seem to be damaged and the other 90% of the paint job is sparkling so I don't want to necessarily spring for some paint work if I can figure out what I can use to bring back the luster to the dull spots. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

depending on your experience, you could use a buffer and some light compound. If you are not to good with a buffer, take it to a local detail shop and talk to them about it

Thanks, I'll try and see what happens. Guess I couldn't mess it up much more than it is. I'll find a small spot that is really bad and practice on it.
