Default Plastic Dye vs Panel Replacement

I recently bought my '72 vette and so far I love it. However, whoever refinished the interior seems to have spray painted some panels (left and right dash panels, upper dash panel, center console and windshield pillar trim) because after a couple of weeks of use, the original saddle color is showing through in a couple of scratched areas. If they were dyed, would the color scratch off? Right now it's not that noticable, but I was wondering whether I'd be OK to try to use some plastic dye and color these b/c the panels are in great shape, or just pay to replace them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

When I redid my interior I cleaned up all the panels I was going to paint (redye) real well then sprayed the primer on them, turned out pretty good although I have 2 slightly diff shades of Med Saddle (parts I redyed and parts I bought are slighttly off) has been pretty durable except for when I left my passenger seat resting against the dash in the sun, took off a small strip of paint from the dash.

Paint works real well on things that don't get touched by anything.
