Ignition Shield Part Description and Engine Block Color
Can anyone describe the differences in the S.S. Left Front Ignition Shield Piece from 1968 - 1970. There are two types, one with the end open and the other with the end closed off. I am not sure which is correct for what years.
Also, did the blue engine block color start mid 77 thru 78. I have seen both orange and blue on 77's ?

can't help with the ss ignition shield question, but the brain surgeons at GM decided to standardize the blue engine at the mid point in 77. i believe that the blue engine was also used at least through 79. my 78 pace car L48 is "ford" blue (and in my opinion pretty ugly compared to chevy orange).
