427 intake manifold
You just never know what you might end up with on eBay. Check these gallery pics. They are captioned for your entertainment. And my regret. The work (and discovery) was done by a CF member. If it wasn't for him, this might have gone unnoticed with just a general cleanup.427 Manifold Pics

Doesn't really matter to me where the thread goes, I'm just curious as to why it got shuffled.
I don't know you, haven't read your posts, and maybe you're not a 'tech' guy, and maybe you are. But other than reading into it that it's just another eBay gripe, there might be some real value to someone. Imagine what would happen if it were installed without discovering this problem. I wouldn't doubt that similar problems have caused endless hours of head scratching. Rings? Valve? Cracked head? Oil problems? Head gasket? Etc? All to try and repair gasses coming out of your block via whatever exit is available. Holes in the plenum are probably not a good idea either. I really don't think the first conclusion would be that the bottom of the intake manifold has holes in it, so let's look there first. But now perhaps they will? It's all in the show & tell gallery pics. It's the first time I've ever seen a manifold in that condition. My point was to make others aware of what can happen to an intake -- "You just never know what you might end up with on eBay" or from anywhere else might have been a better statement as to not make this a perceived eBay
thread. I'd like to hear from others to see if they also think this is not a technical issue. I'm not asking for this to be moved back, nor care. I'm just curious...
Hey Tommy Lee... what was that you told me?
But this shine and wax guy knows there is nothing technical about bead blasting an intake and dicovering massive corrosion.
Good for you that you didn't get stiffed. Consider yourself very fortunate the seller is a stand up guy. Most will say tough, you bought it, it's yours.....but you still haven't told me what is technical about your thread....
To tell you the truth, most everyone, to a man, will clean an intake and inspect it top to bottom that's been purchased on ebay, and that means taking the heat shield off...yes..I know how to pop those rivets and put them back....
Since you don't care where the thread lies, and since I answered your Q why the thread was moved and why it will stay where it is, there's no need for further discussion.

Seems the original content of this thread has gone south, and now the emphasis is why it was moved to General. Since I've made my point and explained why, there's no reason to keep this thread open, else there will be more pointless rhetoric.
