Default 77 Hatchback, yes Hatchback

Hi, new to the forum, have owned our 77 for just over a year...didn't find any other threads addressing my "unique" car. Yes, we have a Hatchback that was supposedly installed by Eckler's for original owner (we're #3.) This was part of a Greenwood after market conversion back in the 70's. Have found an old Vette magazine that discusses similar conversion in 1978, and some of my fellow club members spotted a 1976 hatchback at Carlisle. Would like to know if others have same conversion, heard only a few hundred done and may only be a few left since it was done to mainly road race cars. Thanks in advance

Why would a hatch-back conversion be used for road racing? Never saw a racer with a hatchback...

Welcome to the forum fellow "hatchbacker" !!! I was at Carlisle and saw the hatchback you're talking about............. forget what they were asking, but do remember when I opened the gas lid ----- there was no gas tank in the car ! I think I've got some pic's of the car -- I'll see if I can find them ! Rick

I owned 4 C3 cars over the years (first one was a '77 bought in 1980). I remember the aftermarket companies offering this mod back in the day. I 'm sure it was pretty expensive. I remember seeing some pretty odd stuff for sale back then. The station wagon mod was pretty common back then but you don't see many around these days. Wish I still had my aftermarket catalogs from 25 years ago..

Yep, that be it. Do you also have the ad for the station wagon?
