Default Engine Help

I am in the process of restoring my 69. It's original motor was the 350/300. I am thinking of purchasing a new engine so I won't have to worry about the original engine. I want to get something that is comparable but reliable, I am not looking for anything fancy. Any suggestions would be great. I have thought about the new GM crate motor, the 350/290 engine, let me know what your think and if you have any experinces with different engines.

Thanks
Todd

Do a bit of searching, this has been a hot topic lately.

Your idea for a crate motor is a good one in my opinion. Keep the original for later, especially with a chrome bumper C3. There are many options for crate engines. I would add fuel injection at the same time, but that's me. Good luck with it.

IMO, the 350/330 is a better match. If you like to beat on it once in a while, think about the ZZ-4 or Fast-Burn 385. I like the 385 alot. I have installed them all, and all are good and reliable.
