Okay, my '77 has a washer pump problem -- well, it doesn't work.
Obvious source of the problem is a defective pump -- it was rusted solid. So I replaced it (an experiment in tedious and frustration, for sure). Problem is -- it still doesn't work. I don't have any voltage at the pump connector.
So the question is ...I didn't find a fuse blown, so does that leave the multi-function switch, or is there a fuse-link somewhere that might also be an issue.
That was the plan unless there was something common to look at before a straight sort out. Looks like I'll just have to dig through it and see what I can find. Thanks.
There was a wire that was broken on the swtich contact in the steering column (PITA). It was clean enough to look like it was cut, but I was able to solder in an repair and I'm in the process of reassembly now.
The only problem is I broke the c-clip retainer and I have to order a replacement.
Still, I won't know for a bit if that was the actual root issue or not. Still, I'm glad I found something.
