C3s are fun to drive. Good luck to you.

I like C3s too.

IMHO

The 68-72 styling on the chrome bumpers is the best.
The bumpers were just that bumpers,
Their only purpose was to bump shopping carts out of the parking spot.
They were designed to look good, not for crash protection and it shows

I like 73 the least as it was a transition year and the front and back styling don't match.

74 is Ok, but the rear rumper isn't as nicely finished as 75-77

75-77 I like second best. I like the sugar scoop back window.

78 is nice.

79-82 seems a little to over styled for my tastes. The spoiler and front air dam got too big.

If anyones peaved cause I like your car the least, I apologize, these are my choices, for my reasons.

Allright, I'll put on my tin-foil hat. I will make the argument that a 1970, 'vert, LT1 or big block with side pipes is the coolest corvette of all time. Only because of the emmision crap in the next couple years. IMHO a car without chrome is not a classic car. Don't misunderstand me : later vettes are awsome: far more reliable and refined. They are all cool, but not CLASSIC. My last vette was a red 1958. Sex-on-wheels. People would chase me down to ask what year it was. Guys in $100k Porsches would get pissed 'cause their girlfriends would goo-goo eye the car. What a piece of crap! It lacked a few refinements such as brakes, suspension and seatbelts. There is a reason the steering wheel is the size of a big-rigs. Did I mention the rust? My brain hurt every time I thought about doing a frame-off. Hard to part with her but I let it go. I settled for a 1970 350/350 coupe. Reasonably priced, and a kick in the *** to drive. Still get goo-goo eyed.

I dislike c4's too, but they're are starting to regrow on me after visiting the c4 section. I'm sure everyone's perception would change about the c4 if they looked at a couple pictures of Callaways or even the picture of a zr1 Lingenfelter car floating around

although my 1985 (that I purchased new and kept for 6 years) was my least favorite Corvette... the upgrade given to all C4's starting 1991 went a long way in improving the looks of the design.

of the 4 C3's I own/owned... my favs are the 1973 and 1982 CE

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if women actually get more goo-goo eye over a C3 vs the C2.

When I got the sports car urge, I was actually considering a 240Z - Another chrome bumper car. But when I mentioned a C3 Vette to my wife, she replied "Oh Yeah! I really like those!"

My first car was a Datsun 240z I miss Her. It had an automatic tranny, and I could wind it out and chirp going into third. Also, the ashtray had a hidehole below where I could hide the kind of things I try to pursuade my kids not to do.
