Wasn't there a big battle there a long, long time ago?

Spring Texas. It's not summer here all year, we usually have a week or two of spring and fall, one or two days of winter, and the rest is summer.

Yep, during WWII it was occupied by the Japanese. It actually is the only US soil that was ever taken by a foreign nation. Every July, we celebrate the liberation from Japanese armed forces. Ironically though, we have some big US Naval and Air Force military bases here. And our biggest industry is tourism, mostly from Japan. If you are a big WWII buff, you need to come to Guam to check out the battle locations on Guam and the surrounding islands. There is great diving here too.
On a side note, we have over 600 registered vettes on this tiny 210 sq mile island.
