Default Spokane “Tuning for Beer”, Interested???

As any member of this form I have read many of the post concerning the “Lars Legend”. Being the eternal skeptic I thought this guy was too good to be true and the whole thing was a conspiracy by “Senior members” to make the new guys look dumb. So, I did a search and found an e-mail address and went directly to Legend. I received a very prompt replay and attachments outlining the ground rules for a Tuning for Beer session. NOW all I need is some more guys in the Spokane Washington area that would like to take part in the event this spring (March April). For a 1 day event we need 4 cars, for a 2 day event we would need 8 cars. It’s a pretty simple deal, we cover Lars expenses and beer and he does the work. Seem like a no brainier. If you are interested please post a reply or e-mail me at jwhite@centurytel.net

If you bring it (the beer!), he will come!

Skeptical or not, if you pull it off I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

It will almost certainly exceed your expectations in every area:

1. You will be amazed at the performance improvement in the cars that are tuned.

2. I would strongly urge anyone in the area to attend, even if your own vette is not worked on. Lars runs the program like a seminar, or a college course. He explains everything he is doing and invites and answers questions. You will want to try it yourself! You will be amazed at how much you can learn.

3. You will be amazed at the amount of beer that can be consumed and will undoubtedly have a great time.

You are correct - it is a no brainer! Let's see, for $40, or $50 or $60 or whatever you get something that money can't buy... but just for arguments sake, if you could find a shop in your area that could do similar work it would cost you what.... $200 or $300? and that's without the beer and without learning squat.

Man, if I thought I could get up to Spokane with the Vette, I'd do it in a HEARTBEAT.

My problem is that I don't think that I could get the time off to do that drive, and I don't trust the car to drive that far yet...

Hmm. Maybe if I can get a Vette club down here to help sponsor a "Tuning for Beer" session...

Please tell me that he travles too...to SC????? I NEED some one like that. I replaced the L-82 with a ZZ-4 (I did not do it, I hired it done) and the carb has never been right. It had back fired twice through the carb and burnt the underside of the cleaner cover...and it back fires a LOT when I slow down...not loud, but pop..pop..pop...pop.

Hmmm Tempting to do
Lets see a nice 425 mile Vette drive from Boise ID through some very nice mountain scenery during the best part of the year . Will have to take a few days off of work. Will get to experience the Lars. Drink beer, smoke a few cigars. I really see no downside to this.

Yes I'm interested

Hopefully the weather in the mountains will cooperate at that time of year. A Snow storm could be scary in the shark!

Good luck on pulling this off. If I wasn't so far away, I would definitely be there. From everything I have read about Lars, I would be honored to have him work on my car.
Something for the agenda for the the next club meeting.........
