Low Hood
The stock hood on my 81 does not fit proper, it fits fine except it sets low on the front of the hood surround, just in the center of the hood about 3'' wide. there is not a place to put and alignment bumper. any suggestions?

Open the hood and look at the steel reinforcement on the
bottom of the surround - just in front of the hood.
I'm not exactly sure on 81s - but most C3s will have a support
rod that runs from the reinforcement down to the bottom of the
radiator support. The top is slotted - so loosen the bolt, push
the surround down a bit and tighten. With some trial/error, you
should be able to get the center/front better matched. If that
doesn't get it all, then shimming the hood hinges could make it
better in the center, while compromising the outer corners a bit.
Well, I don't see the part at ZIP ... only to 79 ... perhaps there is something similar on an 81.
