Default Does anybody use this steering wheel?

http://www.corvetteamerica.com/cf/di...eering%20wheel

I currently have a momo that is very comfortable but is also very ricey looking.

The one above from Corvette America look like a much better compromise. It also usues the stock horn button. It is $139. That seems like a fair price if it is made well. does anyone have it? How is that quality?

Does anyone else sell that model? I thought it was a Grant, but I didn't find it on their site.

Nice looking wheel. Maybe Corvette America has them made to order by someone like Grant. I had a wood steering wheel on an Alfa Romeo and it felt great. If the wheel bolts right on it sounds like a good deal. If you have to deal with adapters and non-stock horn rings things can get complicated.

I don't recall seeing that wheel in any published pics on the forum but if someone has one I'm sure you'll be hearing from them.

That wheel is not made by Grant. I have one made by Grant that looks very similar but is all leather on the rim.

It was an easy install. Remove horn button. Six screws out. Old wheel off, new on. Sox screws in. Horn button on.

From the Grant catalog. All these are direct bolt ons for C3's with tilt/tele wheels.

Part #791, suggested retail $139.88. This is what I have. Special ordered through Schucks.

Part #794, suggested retail $187.12.

Part #795, suggested retail $187.82.

I have one and like it. I paid more for it last year in Los Angeles.

Thank for the replies, that is very helpful! I love the feel of my Momo, but the look is not right for what I want my car to be. I really think the stock '68 looked best, but the car was hard to drive with that huge thing.

I may give that Corvette America one a try.

I bought one of those $99 wheels that Ecklers is selling...was horrible....looked like it had been made in 3rd grade fabrication shop class. Went with a Billet Specialties one in the end.

I am looking for a wheel as well and really can't find the right one....Many look real nice, but just can't locate the "RIGHT" one...The one here from CA, although could be the way to go!!

Any links to any other sites would be appreciated. I have checeked out Momo and Colorado customs....I really don't want to spend $300.00 on a wheel.(WOW)

Thanks..

Andy

Grant does make a steering wheel exactly like that in wood. I've seen it at the local Kragen's. I don't know if that is the same wheel or something identical made by another company. Kragen sells that wheel out here for $99.00

[QUOTE=Jay M]

My grant is three spoke and looks like this one, except it is leather wrapped. I think I got it at advanced auto for $115. Looks really nice. Sorry no pics available at time.

I have this wheel as well. Perfect size, looks much like the original, works with the tilt on my 69 which are all good. Problem is it feels cheap. It flexes when you push and pull on it and if I were to shove it hard or braced myself with it going into an accident I could fold it like a pretzel around the column. Somebody else may not notice it as much but I like the wheel to not flex at all.

Cheers
