Why won't the car move?

Might be a stupid question but I removed a broken halfshaft and wanted to pull the car into the shop. Put it in gear won't move.
Did I tear up the rearend? Or is it limited slip or what.

If it's an open rear or if your posi is out of adjustment, all the "power" is going to the missing half shaft.

Looks like you're pushing it in.

Any car needs both wheels to drive it. Even posi.
Disconnect or break one shaft and the car won't move.
The diff will spin the unconnected wheel, axle the opposite direction.

The half shaft on a C2 or C3 also forms the upper part of the rear suspension link. You shouldn't even lower the car to the ground without this piece in place, never mind try to move it.
