I installed the SS parking brake mechanisms in my 68. I was told not to use the SS brake shoes. The story was that they don't fit well in an all new installation. ...Something to the effect that the arc of the SS shoes is greater than stock. Whatever, I used the OEM steel shoes. Gave the metal surfaces a spray of cad paint. If your putting in SS for the parking brake, have a look at In-Line Tubes SS sheathed parking brake cable. I installed one and it looks great.
