Go the bad news on the engine. It’s going to take almost as much $$$ to rebuild that it will take to get a new engine. I want to show the car and run a little autocross. I have been reading the NCCC rulebook and do not want the car to move to the Group III class. (I have nice stock looking car and I don’t want to have to add a roll bar/ 3inch seat belts to run Autocross)
Will one of these engines allow me to stay within the rules and still compete in Group II?
I used to race 1B class...I believe either engine will be legal for 2B, as long as you don't add headers. Local NCCC events are not teched too rigidly. You should get the rule book to be sure. Many Vettes run crate engines, btw.
big G is right..get the rule book and read it over and over...there may be some loop holes..I found one once for stock class in our local assoc regarding DOT tires...
