1972 "Chrome" Trim ??
1972 Coupe....
Regarding the "chrome" (stainless) trim at the base of the windshield - which is attached to the vacuum operated wiper door....Was it originally painted body color from the factory?
ALSO.....Same question regarding the 2 grills on the rear deck...
I looked at a couple other cars for that same reason, and it appears they are painted body color, except the very top edge of the wiper door. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I sorta thought so, but wasn't sure....body color - except the very thin top bead, nearest the windshield glass .
Wiper door is painted except for the chrome strip on the edge. Rear grills are also painted body color. If you look under the wiper door when it is opened you can see the seperate chrome strip that is mounted on the edge.
I have a non painted trim in both places at rear deck and at wiper door. I also understand they were both painted except for the very top edge of wiper door (1/8 inch rouned bead). But I have a dark grey and they look great unpainted. Now here is why I am emailing, if you own a 70 model as I do, look at your sales brochure (I have an original) Now turn to page 9 and shazam! this wiper trim is not painted, so I have a theory, some coupes may have left without paint. Anyway, since I like it unpainted, I use this picture to show the ones that always point out my error, and I enjoy the look on their faces. Do what you think looks best!
