I got a LS1 00 block 01 heads F-body accessories and pulley system... no wiring no computer no fuel system.... for $1500.00

I say get the car!! that is a deal... If you get a T56 your going to spend big bucks on the conversion!

Why's that? I might be having one heading my way cheap.

It is alot more involving to switch from an auto car to a manual car ...that happens to be a much longer T56.

You will need to setup hydralic system, pedals, shifter, new crossmember, new driveshaft etc...

T56 usually cost more than an Auto also.

LS1 is more involving than a LT1 the mounts are different motor is much lighter....I had to cut my front springs because my front end sat way up...The steering unit had to be moved... motor position was moved from factory. Lot more involved than a regular motor swap.

That's just not true. It is a little more involved, but well worth it if that is what you want. The crossmember mods will be virtually the same for the auto or six speed. The driveshaft will have to be shortened either way, and the pedal assembly is really not that pricey, besides you can sell your auto pedals on ebay to recoup some of the costs.

Couple of questions for LS1 converts:

1) Alt/PS pump - does the F body location work in our C3's, or do you need to relocate alt higher and do something else with PS pump? Or something else all together? Get a bit worried when I hear folks talking of $1K serpintine systems....

2) I found an 2001 camaro LS1 w/6 speed complete (all accessories, hoses, wiring, smog items, both cats, Y pipe, etc.) with exception of MAF and computer, 11K miles theft recovery for $4000 asking. I could drive and get it, save on shipping. Thinking of offering a bit less ... think this is too much?
The black camaro wreck on ebay - seller wanted to let auction run, and boy is it running (plus I would have $1K in shipping!).

I might be crazy, but I think I am going do this ... just finding the right deal and investing many months of time....
