Default Friends vette/house lost...

Was at club board meeting last night when a call came in on friends cell notifying him his house was on fire....he lost everything...his 78 Vette exploded in the garage....his neighbor had just completed a new house, but had not moved in..they are letting him and his family move into the new house until he settles things with his insurance company...word is it was an electrical problem that caused the fire...

Sorry to hear that, my condolences...

Was it faulty wiring in the new built home or in the car?

I cannot imagine having a loss such as that. My heart goes out to them.

It was wiring in his garage apparently....he is a fireman,as well.....when the fire dept got there, the garage was toast, and the house was engulfed in flames...went up very fast....

My father-in-law had a major fire about 20 years ago. Still misses the personal mementos and keepsakes that were lost. It's a hell of shame.
Sounds like this guy has a terrific neighbor.

Possibly get the president of your club to contact other clubs in the area or all over for that matter to see if people can donate or help him out somehow. setup a website where people can donate money for the family..

Latest....Spoke to him Thursday...his son is ok...this was a new home...Fire investigation found no fire stop at wall from garage for electrical lines passing into house from service panel...seems several of these same new homes have had electrical issues...it is now all tangled up with home contractor and insurance company...insurance adjuster spotted home contractor taking photo from across street, then split...guess we know where this is going...
