Dynomometer test machines
I don't understand how a calibrated test machine can have different results from two consecutive tests.
If all the variables are compensated for like air temp and humidity the only thing left is engine temp. That should already be hot.
The reason for the question is I've seen posted pulls, nothing was adjusted or changed. The hp and torque was different.
If its a test machine why don't it reproduce the same results?
If its the engine how can it produce differing values of power?
If these dynos aren't accurate then how do you know that anyones dyno is correct? Is there a stamp or something for them?

Too many variables within the average chassis dyno setup. (ambient temp., baro. press., tire pressure and rolling diameter,air circulation, tire slippage, etc.) Even then, there are variables within the dyno itself as it heats up.
Best results would be found with an engine-only dyno in a climate controlled test room with remote equipment cooling.
