gas tank; repair or replace
Okay, I took out my gas tank today. Found the gas smell. There was a nail hole size leak under the tank support. As soon as I loosened the support, gas started to really leak. When the support was removed gas was running out like it was from a small faucet. Now, I don't know whether to try to repair my tank (it appears to be in otherwise good condition ) or to just get a new tank Repair kit is only $49, but I don't know what my chances of success are. Otherwise, a new tank costs around $200.
Anyone have any advice? I'd sure appreciate your input.

I would replace it..if you have a hole now, other holes will spring up, but if you're bent on repairing, I fixed my tank years ago...used resin and fiber matt....sanded the area with 80 paper and laid the glass..held for 20 years, then I replaced the tank.
