Anyone ever had a Bra on a 80 – 82 vette? Does it fit ok? I need to drive 2,000 miles and do not want to get to the other end with the paint all chipped off. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.
A bra will do more damage then driving without one. A bra tends to flap in the breeze and rub the paint off. If it gets a little grit under it, then it acts as a nice big sheet of course sandpaper.
I have driven my Corvette cross country twice and never got any chips. Just don't follow anyone too closely and you will be fine.

my front doesn't match and has a couple of really nasty spots on it. I put a mini bra on until I can afford a good paint job and have been happy with it. I don't like bras any more than most here, but chose the lesser of 2 evils...

there was a recent thread on this subject.
Have you considered an Invisible Car Bra?
Check out my website to see what can be done.
You will have to find a local installer who has a pattern for an 82.
Don't let them cut the film on the car and I prefer Ventureshield over the other brands.
I don't like bra's either but I saw one bumper get wrapped in saran wrap before the bra went on. It was supposed to keep the bra from damaging the car.
I have a bra on my '74, and it's there for one reason, at this point:
To help keep the front bumper together.
Previous owner damaged it, and until we can get a replacement from Zip/Ecklers/whomever has the best price, we're going to leave it on there.
And we're not worried in the least about scratching the paint; the whole back end looks horrible (peeling paint) so we're going to end up stripping it down and repainting it ourselves.
However, I agree with everyone else: bras will ruin the car's front end. If you want something to protect, go with the invisible film ones (Star Armor is one brand, I think; there's a bunch of other brands, including a 3M one that was mentioned earlier).
