Ram Jet Zl1

89961499: Ram Jet ZL1 (Limited Edition)
Getting a hold of one of these may be more difficult than hitting your state lottery. GM Performance Parts is proud to bring back a legend, if only for a limited time. The Ram Jet ZL 1 is the '69 ZL 1 of the new millenium, with its revised aluminum block, a solid roller cam, large oval port aluminum cylinder heads, and Ram Jet fuel injection system...that's right, Fuel Injection. The Ram Jet ZL1 is '454 cid with street friendly 10.2:1 compression ratio that will idle all day long, unlike its predecessor of the late 60's. If you want a Ram Jet AL1, get in line now. GM Performance Parts will be introducing a very limited 200 of these all-aluminum Rat Motors for sale on the open market and I would be willing to bet Jay Leno already has his eye on one...make that 199!
Pace has 1 of each of the following limited production zl1 serial numbers.
Serial number 108......................$16,595.95
Serial number 109......................$16,595.95
Serial number 110......................$16,595.95

And YES Pace has a #69, and the first $23,669.69 takes this one of a kind ZL1

Isn't this is the run of 200 engines they came out with 1 (or2?) years ago? The list price was I think $25k, so these are the remaining engines that GM couldn't sell at the ridiculous list price. I think Hot Rod magazine put one of these engines in their built from scratch Camaro.
I gave buying this one a thought, back when they first came out,.... for about a nano sec.
and then opted for the 502 RamJet. At the time, it was priced up there where serial #69 is today and the 502 RJ was about 1/3 the cost. Very similar engines except for the short block.RamJet 502 specs:

Knowing what I know now, I would have been very disapointed if I paid $23k for an engine and it had that POS MEFI ECU
Don't get me wrong, I love the RamJet, but sooner or later the MEFI will hit the trash.Bullshark
P.S. And the ZL-1 still wouldn't fit under my L-88 hood
