hey everyone
i just wanted to say hello. i've been browsing the forums for a couple weeks now, and the information here is great! i am the recent recipient of a 79 corvette. i know absolutely nothing about corvette's, or american cars for that matter (i'm a VW guy). the car was given to me by my uncle since he hasnt driven it for at least 15 years. the exterior of the car is in rough shape, and i know it needs new calipers and lines for all four corners. the motor, L-82, runs smooth though so that is one good point. i'm looking forward to learning as much as i can through this site, and if anyone has any recommendations as to specific things i should look for on this car, send it
Make sure it is safe first. Brakes and steering are very important. You need to stop and steer before any other mods should be done. Get this squared away and then you can start adding mods to the car.
Welcome.

Welcome.
You have come to the best Corvette site for getting help with repairs, mods, and anything having to do with Corvettes. The people here are great and will help you in any way they can. This site is as important to me as my assembly manual and I wouldn't think of working on my Corvette without the help of these great people.
You're gonna like it here.

Search is the answer! User the search function on the Forum and you can find just about anything you want to know. If you don't find it then post a question and you'll get lot's of help.
Also carefully check all fuel lines and your exterior lights, it is important that your brake lights work, simple stuff but important. Have fun and enjoy your new ride!
Are you in the army? When I was in,most installations had bays where you could work on your car. Uncle Sam provided tools and there was usually someone there to assist with technical advice.
