I'm looking to get new tires for my '79. I have BFG Radial T/A's on my '71 and like them a lot, but I'm looking at the Goodyear Eagle GTII, which is closer to the original '79 tire. Tire-Rack reviews indicate the Goodyears to be a lot noisier and prone to vibration. Any advice ?
I also have a 79 and have period correct Eagle GT tires, which are no longer mfg and are difficult to find, not to mention old and probably dangerous for hwy use due to their age.
I too am thinking of the GT II's and are partial to them because of their cosmetic appearence.
Let me know what you find out and which way you go. Tom
I had a set of Goodyear GT II's on my 82. Nice bold lettering but Beware they have terrible wet traction. Got to the point I would not drive on wet roads with them at all. After half worn they generated alot of noise. I switched to Yokahama's and am happy with them.
