Default Need wheel info

Hello. I am new to the C3 Forum. I sold my C5 and purchased a 1970 Bridgehampton Blue coupe in California. I am stationed in Germany and will have the car shipped to me. I have been seeing some stuff here and there about the Torq Thrust II wheels. Does anyone know if American Racing will eventually make a 17" in chrome? I see on their website that the chrome only goes up to 16" diameter. Also, what is the widest setup that can go on a 70 without changing suspension components. What would the backspacing be? I see that it is usally 4" backspacing for the 17X8. What would it be for a 17X9 if they would fit? Thanks for your help and I look forward to hanging around the C3 forum.

I personally like the polished look over the chrome. I have 17x8's on my car and love the look... no fitment issues. I beleive my backspacing is 5.25" but I may be wrong... this is off the top of my head.

click the "My Corvette Photo's" link to the left, see for yourself how nice they look.

Thanks. How much time do you spend polishing to keep them looking new? What do you use on them? This is part of the reason I am leaning towards Chrome.
