Depends on the engine, but the L46 350/350 (L48 was the base engine 350/300) had the open element air cleaner with a chrome top very similar to the LT-1. The bases were different between the L46 and LT-1 due to the use of the Q-Jet vs. Holley.
I was just thinking the same thing. I aways thought it was the open element one as well. The guys I bought my vette from tried to tell me that the dual snorkel one was the correct one.
I have a 350/300 and mine is an open air cleaner. When I bought my car the dealer said that it should have been a duel snorkel. I am not so sure. It is a late 70. If someone changed it they got all original parts. The air cleaner lid has the original screen printing on it. Also, just the way it looks it you know it is as old as the car. I am not sure if I have ever seen a duel snorkel on a 70.
