vinyl hardtop date.
I am looking at a vinyl top for my march 69 car and came across one that I am not sure about. This top has a date of january 1968 and has the chrome tips on the ends. Is this correct? Thanks all

'68's didn't have chrome tips ...
so another owner probably added them. Depends on if you're going for "originality" points as '69's and later had the tips. My hardtop was dated a '73 on my '74, turned out to be a vinyl covered top originally that was painted blue then yellow (its now C5 NBM like the rest of the car). The chrome tips help keep the fiberglass underneath from cracking if you store the top leaning up against the wall when not in use. I've seen a number of '68's with the tips on them so I'm not sure how far into the '68 -'69 model year change that they added them ...
