I am still thinking about your rear gear question, stay with the taller gear and plan on an OD trans swap down the road, you won't regret it.

Prometheus who....if he is a member here and drives a C-3 he must be OK.

The wheels are Edelbrock 454's which I purchased from LiteVette. Edelbrock doesn't offer them any longer, but the company that made them still has 'em...not sure of the name, however.

Prometheus...he was the Greek god who gave fire to man. His eternal punishment for this was to push a large boulder up a hill. Everytime he approached the top of the hill, the boulder would roll back down and he had to start all over again.

Unfortunately, my '73 will be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas on jack stands for some badly needed physical therapy. New engine w/March serpentine assembly, new transmission, new cooling system components, new AC system, front suspension rebuild, on and on and on . . . who knows maybe this time next year we will be together again on the road instead of the garage.

I actually took my girls to my folks in my regular car, then came back and go the Vette to show it off, since I just got it on Halloween to the extended family. I talked my sister into bringing the girls home so I wouldn't have to make 2 trips again.

Sent her in for a suspension re-do and new seat covers. Was supposed to have her back by today, but no luck... I have some new shoes to surprise her with when she gets back

Had a great day...drove the vette 300 miles roundtrip today, down to the wife's family for turkey and all the fixins, and then back home. Averaged about 22 mpg, and covered 150 miles in just over 2 hours, each way, top down part of the way! Great weather low 70's and lots of sunshine. Actually saw a couple of C-4's and C-5's on the road...they were surprised when I passed them!
I love my 2004r! And the new foam in my seats, and the new stereo!!!

Tonysinclair...I believe the myth you are referring to is the myth of Sysyphus, not Promethius......

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

My wife gave 'thanks' when we got home that the car didn't break down on the highway....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are corrrect, sir. It appears I'm a little rusty on my Greek Mythology!

It was Sisyphus who was punished with the rock-up-the-hill for pizzing off Hades.

Prometheus' punishment (for giving fire to mortals) was to be chained to a mountain-top while an eagle pecked at his liver (which re-generated each night)...about the same fate I feel whenever my car needs more $$$ to repair.

Mine is sitting in the shop with the interior gutted & crying because I haven't paid her any attention. The wife feels that I need to finish her greenhouse before her plants freeze. I feel like Sisyphus, except I'm chained to the greenhouse!

It was 16 degrees outside and 58 degrees in the garage and the vette still wanted her blanket.

Mine went in for cosmetic surgery. Started stripping the paint off it. It's got a nice spot in a warm garage for a few months!
