I have a Holley carb. which I believe came off my fathers 1971 LS6 vette, but I'm not sure. here's the # on the choke horn.

My Question is if this is the original carb for a 1971 LS6 what is it worth? My understanding is that there was only about 160 LS6 made in '71. Any info and or other places to ask/sell this carb would be greatly appreciated. I have pics that I could e-mail anyone that would like to see it. Oh, and the car sold, why the carb did not go with it I don't know. Thanks again for any info. Karajean@Adelphia.net
Post this on the NCRS site for more interest in a numbers matching carb. You might just clean it up and put it on Ebay. I bought an old Holley at a swap meet for $5. Never could crack the code, although I knew it was Mopar. I thought is was for a 2-ton truck or something similar. Put it on Ebay and it sold for like $130. Turns out it was a 68 383 Roadrunner partial year carb with perfect dates for him. Guy said he had been looking for 5 years and would have paid up to $500 for it. I should have done more research....
appears to be an original LS6 carb (number), for a 4spd. I think they were used on LS6 Chevelles as well as corvette, and there were only 188 LS6 corvettes. You will have to test the market to learn what it is worth.
One confusing thing, could be a typo somewhere.
Blackbook says 3986196 => 4803 => automatic
and 3986195=> 4802=> manual
I have another source that says 4802=automatic and 4803= manual, and you seem to have 3986195 and 4803
Thanks for the info. Please pardon my ignorance but what is NCRS? I just want to find a good home for the carb. I know someone out there would want it. Thanks again.
