Thanks guys! A little insight... this is a matching # Air LT-1 engine. We bored the cylinders 30 over (no damage) but, just to get the holes nice and round. Balanced, and installed TRW flattop pistions. Polished the original crank reused rods. New solid lifters, and pushrods. Installed Isky cam to,as close to the original as I could get. Found (on this site) a correct dated carb 6239 and had it restored. Can't really see it, but the Distributor was (Larsified), smile. Wow! he did a great job!!! Thanks Lars!!! The tranny has been completely rebuilt and the only thing I'm probably going to regret is... I ceramic coated my original exhaust manifolds...ummmm.
In reference to installing Eddie...Gosh, gotta work probably three weeks straight...so maybe next month, Yukkkkkkk. Don
Again, thanks for the complements guys! Fl-rider... thats an understatement in regards to (can't wait to hear it run), smile. Gordonm, yea I looked all over for a water neck. Couldn't find one. Mine (original) would not work up to expectations)! Advise?? And yes, the shielding will go back on, though I do not have the longer side pieces...
I just know from when mine was on it is much easier to put on with the motor on a stand. Even if you just get the lower V pieces on and the brackets that attach to the exhaust manifolds. Once in the the it is a PITA to install this stuff. It is a hassle anytime but if you want the original look this is the way to go. I just sold all my sheilding (it was brand new) about 8 months ago.
