Just wanted to say a few words about forum member Tracdogg2. I recently discovered that he is local to me here in the Dallas, Tx. area and has been a mechanic for 29 years- specializing in Covettes. He now has a parts and service business here- so I went over to his business to meet him and see what he had to offer for the '79 that I recently purchased. I ended up talking with him for quite a while on Corvette parts. In short, Mike knows his stuff when it comes to replacement Corvette parts- which brands are junk and which ones are worth the money. I decided to give him a shot because up until now I had bought from the normal supporting Vendors - but they weren't local to me if I had a problem. I got some suspension parts from Mike and I could not be happier. They are all top notch and fit perfectly. So I then gave him my Borg Warner 4spd. transmission to rebuild. It came back a few days later perfect as well and shifts now smooth as glass. He took the time to show me what was wrong with it and recommended the best rebuild kit. He also came over to my house and helped me install my engine and transmission as a courtesy. I saw some trailing arms that he was doing for another forum member and it looked like artwork. He now has my list of parts that I need. Bottom Line: There are other vendors besides the Biggies out there to buy from that can give first class service and good prices on parts. I'll bet he treats his out of state customers the same way as he did me. Mike: I hope I'm not embarrasing you too much here but I have to pass along good experiences to the other members.
I've heard nothing but good things about him, but have never had the pleasure of meeting him. He's in the Garland area?....right? I'm down in Ellis county and dont get into the city much.
Mike's the man. What did you think of his Psyco-Purple 60's people eater vette? That thing is a time machine. I hope he restores it to its Acid inducted late 60's apparence. With mushrooms and lace paint treatment.
