rear differential restamping question
I have a 68 that originally had a 3.55 gear box the tank sticker says that was non existent when I got the car
I found a new 68 differential it is stamped for a 4.11
What is the best method of getting rid of the stamped FB from on the new differntial that will be undetectable?
Then I can stamp it the correct AZ
The only thing I could think of is metal shot
Any ideals

Yes, I have an idea...
Don't do anything to that "FB" coded differential. Join NCRS (or get a friend who is already a member) and run two ads in The NCRS Driveline... One to sell the "FB", the other to buy an "AZ".
You should make more money selling the "FB" than what any "AZ" should cost... Original 4.11 differentials are few and far between, not to mention the fact that just about everybody restoring a Corvette equipped with one of the high performance engines wants one.
The "AZ" differential on the other hand is rather common... Even for big blocks.
Regards,
id rather restamp at least I know there is not any problem with the case as it was magnafluxed
Also I am already a member Driveline is great for selling stuff but that i all. It should be parts for corvette parts for sale or wanted adds
The site says it is for tech.... big joke
