Default Birthday Calculator

Does anyone out there have a birthday calculator I can use to find the build date of my 1968 327/350??? I know it's a Feb/Mar build, but I'd like to be able to narrow it down to the day.

414362

Thanks,
Q

Why not just use the date off the trim tag? Much more accurate that a statistics-based calculator.

your vin is #14362 ? If last one built in March 68 was 15000, and yours was 638 before that, and they made 2353 in March, which is about 76 per day (I dont know if they built on Sunday) so maybe yours was built around the 20th or the 22nd of March 1968, so your trim tag should be something like H20 or H21 or H22... am I close??

I just cheated a little... Paul's is #14222 and he is H19, so you should be right around H21, or H22 (14626 is H27)

hmmmm 14511 is H22 so that puts you back at 20/21

A August 1967
B September 1967
C October 1967
D November 1967
E December 1967
F January 1968
G February 1968
H March 1968
I April 1968
J May 1968
K June 1968
L July 1968

Then look for the # after it...
eg:
B05= September 5, 1967

Yes, They start with A as the first month of production. Most years, production started in August of the previous year, so A would be August of 1978. But some years A = September of the previous year. This is for body build date. In other parts of the car, "A" could be the first month of the year, so A = January.

Thanks guys. I'll run out and check the plate when I get home. So would March be considered an early or late model 68???

It's only individual components that are 'early' or 'late', not the entire car as a whole. The change over from one to another can happen at anytime through out the production year and it's rare to see two components change style at the same time.

PRNDL,

Finally got around to checking the tag - March 21, 1968. Nice work!

I wish there were a way to find out how many 68's are still on the road

Thanks,

...Q, your '68 was built 140 cars after my Silver '68 327/350hp coupe, which is #14222. If you look at total 1968 production, which was 28,566 cars, our cars are VIRTUALLY within a day or two of being halfway through 1968 production!!! My car's body build date is March 19th, 1968.

My Blue '68 convertible is #18434, a May 6th, 1968 body build date car.
