Here's what you have to aim for: (I know it's an LS2 or 7)

Mike after driving my brothers 04 vette with mild bolt ons,it made my mind up.i need an ls1.But after going for a ride in it last night with forged bottom end, patriot heads, magic stick cam(.650 lift with 1.82 rockers) 3.70 gears ,yank 3600 stall ,this thing is sick, this morning i went right out and got to work.Cant wait to have an ls1 in it now.

Pat: Looking good. Did you drill holes in the plastic lifter holders to help with oil flow? I read about doing that after my motor was running so I didn't have a chance to do it. I'm sure you can find info about it on LS1Tech.

TT: The F-body GM computer is very flexible and lends itself well to stand-alone operation. With either of the available tuning suites, you can tune for just about anything you could throw at the motor. Of course, it is not without limits. Once you get enough boost to max out the MAF, custom operating systems are needed to be able to measure (via 2- or 3-bar MAP) the huge amount of incoming air. However, they are readily available for a small fee.

matt,we did it to my brothers, but after some reading on ls1 tech i saw that a few guys lifters turned in the holders becuase the holes now drilled made them weak.I didnt take the chance, probably was just a coincidence.

Woah! Ok. I guess it's better that I didn't do it then.

I'm suprised somebody hasn't come up with a billet aluminum lifter holder to replace the plastic one. (If anyone takes my idea and makes a product, I want a set for free. Thanks.)
