Default LT-1 Question

Hey, I know that someone knows the answer to this , I think that maybe I might. I have this 1995 Caprice ex-cop car, a 9C1 optioned car and for motovation it has a LT-1 in it,, I'll tell ya for a big ole boat the car honks, how close is the family resemblence to a LT-1 that was in a Corvette from about the same year,, I am not talking about the LT-1's from the early '70's, that is a completely different thing. Reason being is that maybe I will transplant this motor into the '82 instead of the drivetrain out of the rust-bucket '80. It will have a BW Super T-10 behind it,,, this is a very low budget swap and whatever I need to make this cop car motor work in the Vette will be gleaned from the donor, the '82 is presently just a shell,,, no wiring , no interior, just a rolling shell. Probably easier with a harness from PAINLESS or the like but that would bust the bank. Any ideas ,,, thanks,,,Peace,,, Moosie

I've got 1 in my 65 and 1 in my 74. They fit right in with no problem. I used the Muncie 4-speed in the 65 and the TH 400 in the 74. Howell Engine development harness and they programed the ECM. If you want more details let me know. Both cars run perfect. The only engine part I changed was the fuel rails from a salvage yard off of a Corvette.

Just a little trivia. The LT1 you are talking about is referred as the LT1. The older LT-1 is referred as the LT-1. No hyphen in the newer model. I know it makes very little difference but just some GM trivia.

I think that's a great idea. But you said it was a cop car, if so you may want to a little work on the motor while its out of the car. Cop cars like taxi's sit in traffic a lot & usally have a 1000000 miles on them.
.02 but it sounds like a good project & it would save a few $1000 that you can put into something else.

No I'm actually horrible unless it comes to car trivia. Other than that I suck.

Real close - like exactly the same except for the exhaust system...
