The cars looks sweet right now. I have always loved the look of a nicely waxed all black car. My 84 Trans Am is all black and I love the freshly waxed look. The house looks nice too by the way.

no the name on the wheels center caps and rim is Mangels. they where on the car when i got it. I need to polish them better they where machined finished. I used this kit form eastwood that they sell that worked great. It was a p.i.t.a. to get the machine finish off though

It's rare that I see a black car that I like...most show spiderwebbing in the paint or clearcoat so easily...However, that being said, I like that one.

thats because the paints not even a year old. I painted the car myself back in july. Don't get me wrong there are flaws in the paint i already have a few chips in it which pisses me off but hey I want to enjoy the car not have it a trailor queen.

Have you painted other cars before? Was this your first time? I was wanting to try painting my own cars but was not sure what type of results to expect. I have heard that prep work is alot of the work but still I was unsure how much skill is involved in the actual spraying of paint.

No it was not my first paint job. It was my first time to paint a vette. Prep is where its at the better the car is preped the better the paint will turn out. Its not hard to paint. practice first. I painted several guitars with kandy paints and put flames or what ever on them to learn to paint, my dad help out alot. He had his own business so that is where i learned and who taught me. Some will tell you its the paint gun you can use. Thats bull I first sprayed this car with the cheapest paint you could buy and a crappy titan paint gun that came in a kit. The first paint that i put on was to make sure the car was not wavy and the bodywork was stright search my username for my other post if you do not know what this car looked like when i got it. The final paint job was applied using a divilibis gravity gun for the base coat and a divilibis siphon feed for the clear. then the car was sanded and recleared and the sanded and buffed. The pain on this car is deep. But the thing is if you looked at pictures of the car when it was painted with the cheap gun and the pictures now the paint is just as slick. So it is all in the prep work.
